For about the price of a tank of gas, Newcastle resident Elice Kim is asking for donations to provide life-changing eye care for the people of Ghana.
With a contribution of about $50, the average cataract surgery can be covered by clinics associated with Unite for Sight, a global organization that offers comprehensive eye care in areas where underprivileged people lack access to adequate medical care.
Kim will volunteer with Unite for Sight from Oct. 1 to Oct. 15 in Accra, Ghana.
