Beginning July 11, residents may notice a low-flying helicopter over the city, flying in a winding fashion. The helicopter will measure radiation in the city and across the region, measuring from a height of 300 feet. The helicopter will take measurements through July 28.
The data will serve as a baseline with which to compare data if there is a nuclear incident like the one in Fukushima, Japan.
