Cyclists weigh in on bike safety bill

Two avid bicyclists from Newcastle have some reservations about a bill in the Legislature that would require motorists to keep at least three feet away from bicyclists and pedestrians they are passing.
Jeffrey Lorsch, who has participated in several Seattle to Portland bicycle rides and last month’s Chilly Hilly ride on Bainbridge Island, said the 3-foot recommendation is already listed in the Washington state drivers guide. Read more

The type with the swirling colors coiling into elaborate shapes: flowers, leaves, the countryside.
One day Newcastle resident Joe Dowell, 60, found one that particularly interested him, and the color of that lavender box wouldn’t leave his brain, even after a piece of it was removed. Read more
