Newcastle students graduate from college
- Luc Charbonneau, of Newcastle, graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, with a Bachelor of Arts in geology.
- Alexander Hopper, of Newcastle, graduated May 28, with a Bachelor of Arts from the School of Liberal Arts at Tulane University, in New Orleans.
- Cassandra Beck, of Newcastle, graduated June 20 from Marylhurst University, in Marylhurst, Oregon, with a Bachelor of Science in business management.
- Reid Fredrickson, of Newcastle, graduated May 24, with a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of San Diego, in San Diego, California.

Senior leads Patriots to 2A state swim title

The trophy looks awesome up close for the Liberty High School swim team as they celebrate their school’s first-ever state swim team championship Nov. 15 at the King County Aquatic Center, earned in style with a 2A-record 348 point total.
