Hazen High School football coach Drew Oliver announced on the team’s Facebook page that he will leave the Highlanders to coach his alma mater, Newport High School.
Oliver took over the program in 2009, and under his direction, Hazen returned to the state playoffs during the 2011 season, for the first time since 1993.
“I feel that the program at Hazen is in a much better place now than it was five years ago, and I’m confident that with the fine community of support and culture of hard work we’ve created, it will continue to get even better,” he wrote.
