City hosts spring recycling event
The city is sponsoring a spring recycling collection event from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. March 28 in the parking lot of Renton Academy, 6928 116th Ave. S.E.

Several household items will be accepted, including lead; acid and alkaline batteries; porcelain toilets and sinks; and residential propane tanks. There will be a $5 cash-only charge for toilets, sinks and propane tanks.
Large appliances and televisions will also be accepted. A $25 fee will be charged for each refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner. Fees range from $20 to $30 for television sets, and are based on size.
Computers, printers, keyboards, fax machines, cellular phones and scanners will also be accepted. The fee for computer monitors is $10.
Household waste, including scrap wood and yard debris, garbage, mattresses, plastic toys, window glass and hazardous material will not be accepted.
