Missing Newcastle man Taji Ali was found safe last evening in the Newport Hills neighborhood, according to Newcastle Police Chief Melinda Irvine.
Ali, 78, went missing from the Coal Creek Apartments unit he shares with his family sometime before 9 a.m. yesterday.
The city and the King County Sheriff’s Office released bulletins with Ali’s picture on them, which played a vital role, since public tips greatly aided the effort.
Irvine estimated there were about 45 King County Search and Rescue members involved in the search.
“We’re very happy to report it was a successful search,” Irvine said.
Ali, who has dementia, was safely returned to his family.
