NEW — 11:10 a.m. Jan. 9, 2014
A suspect in a Jan. 7 attempted home burglary was arrested and booked into the King County Jail thanks to the multiple tips the Newcastle Police Department received.
“The arrest and charging stems from our partnership with Bellevue PD and the citizens who took the time to share our bulletin among friends and neighbors; we received multiple tips, thank you,” Newcastle Police Chief Melinda Irvine said in a statement.
Police asked the public for information about a suspect caught on video at a Jan. 7 home burglary, just hours after it occurred.
A photo showed a man attempting to break in to a home in the 13000 block of Southeast 89th Place. The house alarm sounded, scaring off the suspect.
The next step, police said, is to determine if he is associated with any other burglaries in the city.
