Damon Sterne, of Renton, recently served a week as a page in the Washington State Senate and was sponsored by Sen. Mark Mullet, D-Issaquah.
“Damon is a bright, driven young man,” Mullet said. “My impression is that Damon came away with greater respect and appreciation for the importance of public service after his time in Olympia.”
During the week, pages assist senators, staff and attend seminars where they learn from guest speakers and hold mock hearings on bills they create.
Sterne, 16, is a sophomore at Liberty High School. He enjoys music and video games, and is a district high school champion wrestler.
