Smoke billows from the roof of a Newcastle home, as a house fire erupted on Sept. 14.
The Bellevue Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 14300 block of Southeast 77th Street at around 10 a.m. Friday, said Lt. Troy Donlin, Bellevue Fire Department spokesman. Read more
Massage Envy to raise money for Arthritis Foundation

Massage Envy has joined forces with the Arthritis Foundation to host Healing Hands for Arthritis.
On Sept. 19 all 22 Puget Sound area Massage Envy clinics and spas will donate $10 from every one-hour massage or facial to the Arthritis Foundation. Last year, the event raised $500,000 for the Arthritis Foundation.
All proceeds donated during Healing Hands for Arthritis will support the Arthritis Foundation’s nationwide efforts to prevent, control and cure arthritis.

Liberty narrowly defeats Hazen in football showdown

The captains for Liberty and Hazen meet at midfield for the opening coin toss in the Sept. 7 contest between the two Renton schools. Liberty defeated Hazen 25-22.
