As the co-founder of the effort to incorporate Newcastle and a member of the first Newcastle City Council, it was my dream to unite the various neighborhoods and create a sense of community through this annual celebration. I think back fondly of the very first efforts to establish Newcastle Days through the tireless efforts of citizen volunteers and the Greater Newcastle Chamber of Commerce, and marvel at how it has evolved and what it has become today. Kudos to Council member Dulcich and the current members of the City Council, staff, citizens and volunteers for what will surely be another fun and enjoyable day!
