SE 73rd Place is in desperate need of sidewalks. It's the main artery connecting the southwest Newcastle neighborhood to downtown. Cars consistently fly down the hill. Surveying for sidewalks took place months ago, but I don't believe any further action has been taken. Is it going to take an accident before the city will act? Many more residents will be walking down the hill on that road to the new library. Let's put in sidewalks before someone gets hit. Please.

We have been requesting a safer road in our neighborhood for well-over twelve years. The 8400 & 8600 blocks on 118th Ave SE has had two designs proposed & paid for by the City & budgeted for over the year. It is well under residential safety standards. The roadway surface is 14 ft wide on aSIXTY ft City easement.
There has been one death of a child on 118th Ave from a car backing out of a driveway two years ago. There is not room for pedestrians to safely walk with cars on the narrow roadway. It is DANGEROUS!
The City spends the budget on higher profile projects & disregards older neighborhoods that were hear before the City of Newcastle existed
