I don't want more space in the old inefficient building. I want the contract city with a small, efficient government we incorporated for in the first place. This council seems to understand that.

They are moving into an existing building (a nice one) with vacant space, and getting a good deal because of it. I'm frugal, but know when to do the right thing to get a quality outcome.

I'll relax knowing these guys are doing the best they can in tough times.

This can't be all you're going to put into this story. How about the fact that the space will be smaller, that for essentially the same lease amount over the 5 years the City would have picked up almost twice the space, been able to have inside storage for vehicles, moved equipment being stored at Lake Boren, all at the current location. So, we pay more for the lease, get less office space, for what purpose? Was there significant complaint from the citizens about City Hall? I don't think so. I know for years Mayor Dulcich was against moving City Hall. What changed his mind? I hope it isn't that he was involved in the development of that space. What happened to the belt tightening, fiscal responsibility argument that was being so proudly trumpeted all last year? I nice new space sounds good but is it fiscally sound and/or really needed?
