<p>While undergoing routine patrols of Newcastle areas, two police officers reported seeing two suspicious vehicles in separate incidents March 1 and 2. An officer stopped a suspicious white Honda parked on a secluded driveway south of Southeast 89th Place and 133 Avenue Southeast the morning of March 2. The officers warned the driver about parking in an area marked “No Trespassing” and asked him to leave. A different officer stopped a suspicious black Honda parked in the Coal Creek Apartments, 6820 Coal Creek Parkway, the morning of March 1. Both men in the vehicle had suspended licenses, so the officer told them to park in the Safeway lot and arrange a ride home.</p>
<p><span id="more-9353"></span><strong>Lord of the rings</strong></p>
<p>Two custom rings worth more than $1,800 were stolen from a home for sale in the 7200 block of 134th Court Southeast, as a real estate agent showed the house to prospective clients between Feb. 25 and March 4.</p>

<p><strong>Unlocked</strong></p>
<p>An unknown suspect stole about $1,200 worth of goods, including a backpack and an Apple laptop, from an unlocked car parked in the 12700 block of Southeast 73rd Place on March 4.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Double shot</strong></p>
<p>A company trailer and truck parked in the Hansen Brothers Moving and Storage lot, 6860 Coal Creek Parkway S.E., were each shot once between Jan. 20 and Feb. 26. The owner did not notice the bullet holes until late February and reported it to police March 4.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Grand theft gasoline</strong></p>
<p>About 10 gallons of gasoline were stolen from a van parked at the Newport Crossing apartments, 7311 Coal Creek Parkway, just after 4 a.m. March 5. A man was on security patrol when he noticed gas leaking from the van and a garden hose emerging from the gas tank. There were no known suspects.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Tarps gone</strong></p>
<p>Two tarps valued at $1,100 were stolen from a trailer parked on the street in front of the Coal Creek Utility District office, 6801 132nd Place S.E., between the evening of March 7 and the early morning of March 8.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Near vehicle theft</strong></p>
<p>An unknown suspect caused more than $150 worth of damage while attempting to steal a vehicle parked at the Newport Crossing apartments, 7311 Coal Creek Parkway, between the evening of March 6 and the morning of March 7. The suspect damaged the steering column, and took a coat and emergency kit, but was unable to get away with the car.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Watch the road</strong></p>
<p>A car got stuck in the mud at Highlands Park, on the corner of Southeast 91st Street and 140th Avenue Southeast, after the driver got distracted while looking at the radio and drove onto the grass March 10. There was no damage to the car or property, but the vehicle had to be towed.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Unwanted visitor</strong></p>
<p>Police responded to a suspicious circumstances call in the 7300 block of 126th Place Southeast, after a woman reported that between March 10 and 12, an unknown person came to her house and tried the doors as if they were attempting to enter.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Good Samaritan</strong></p>
<p>A good Samaritan found a purse at the entrance of the Tamarind Condominiums, in the 7400 block of Newcastle Golf Club Road, and turned it in to police March 10. Police were able to track down the owner, and returned the purse and its contents.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Stolen iPhone</strong></p>
<p>An iPhone was stolen from the Coal Creek YMCA, 13750 Newcastle Golf Club Road, on March 18. The owner had left the phone unattended.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Off leash</strong></p>
<p>During a patrol of Lake Boren Park, an officer found two people walking their dogs without leashes at about 10:30 a.m. March 22. The officer warned the walkers to put a leash on their dogs, or they would be cited next time.</p>

<p><strong>Unlocked and loaded</strong></p>
<p>A handgun worth $450 was stolen from an unlocked car parked at the Walkers Run Condominiums, 7453 Newcastle Golf Club Road, between the evening of March 24 and the morning of March 25.</p>

<p>Between Feb. 1 and Feb. 4, a red Honda Prelude was stolen from the parking lot of the Walkers Run Condominiums, 7453 Newcastle Golf Club Road.</p>

<p><strong>Construction site theft</strong></p>
<p>An extensive amount of copper wire, a ladder and a toolbox were stolen from a storage facility construction site in the 7000 block of 132nd Place Southeast between Feb. 1 and Feb. 4. Police were able to collect fingerprints at the scene.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Off-roading</strong></p>
<p>A vehicle described as a truck or an off-road type car drove on the grass area at Beit Tikvah, 7935 136th Ave. S.E., damaging the grass and a decorative plant Feb. 2. The description of the vehicle was based on tire tracks left at the scene. The church secretary said that it is common for cars to come onto the property and race in the afternoon or evening.</p>
<p><span id="more-9117"></span><strong>Shattered</strong></p>
<p>A $1,400 laptop and a $100 toolkit were stolen from a parked vehicle in the 12200 block of Southeast 91st Street between the evening of Feb. 4 and morning of Feb. 5. The unknown suspect entered the locked vehicle by shattering the left-side passenger window, causing $400 in damage.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Everything but the motorcycle</strong></p>
<p>More than $600 worth of goods was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 7500 block of 135th Avenue Southeast between the evening of Feb. 4 and the morning of Feb. 5. A motorcycle shirt, motorcycle gloves, motorcycle pants and a sales certificate for a motorcycle were among the items stolen.</p>

<p><strong>Trespass</strong></p>
<p>Police responded to a trespassing complaint after a man entered the Newcastle Safeway store, 6911 Coal Creek Parkway S.E., the afternoon of Feb. 5. The man received a trespassing notice after he was arrested for shoplifting nearly a year ago. The man left the store before police arrived.</p>

<p><strong>Cashing checks</strong></p>
<p>Someone broke into a vehicle parked at the Newport Crossing apartments, 7311 Coal Creek Parkway, and stole a checkbook between Feb. 8 and 9.</p>

<p><strong>Pried</strong></p>
<p>An anonymous person reported that the community mailboxes at Southeast 80th Way and 127th Avenue Southeast were pried open Feb. 11. The frame was pried and bent, and the main door was open. The mailboxes were empty but authorities were unsure if anything was stolen.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Assault at the library</strong></p>
<p>An unknown suspect punched a man in the head while the victim waited for his friend at the Newcastle Library, 12901 Newcastle Way, the afternoon of Feb. 12. The victim said he did not know the suspect and does not know why he harmed him. The suspect ran out of the library after hitting the man; an area check for the suspect did not yield any results.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Dumped mail</strong></p>
<p>A Newcastle resident reported to police that she found opened mail dumped along the roadway near the intersection of Southeast 74th Street and 127th Place Southeast on Feb. 14. She did not know who dumped the mail, but noted that it was not the first time that it happened.</p>

<p>During a regular check of Lake Boren Park, 13000 S.E. 84th Way, police found a truck parked on the field, tearing up the wet and icy grass in the early hours of Jan. 5. The driver was not in the truck and upon inspection of the park, no one was in the park at all.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Smashed</strong></p>
<p>An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger side window of a car parked in the 8000 block of 118th Court Southeast, causing $300 in damage, on Jan. 5. An iPod and a briefcase were also stolen from the car.</p>
<p><span id="more-8972"></span> <strong>Library theft</strong></p>
<p>An iPhone 4 was stolen, while its owner visited the Newcastle Library, 12901 Newcastle Way, on the afternoon of Jan. 8. She had placed the phone on the chair and noticed it was gone as she got up to leave the building.</p>

<p><strong>Suspicious activity on 118th</strong></p>
<p>Police responded to reports of suspicious activity at a home in the 8400 block of 118th Avenue Southeast on Jan. 8 and 9. Surveillance cameras caught an unidentified woman looking around the house at 12:15 a.m. Jan. 8. Then on Jan. 9, the cameras caught an unidentified pickup truck parked in the driveway.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Sticky fingers</strong></p>
<p>A $1,225 watch was stolen from a home in the 8200 block of 154th Place Southeast, during an open house showing on Jan. 11. The homeowners were not home while a real estate agent showed their home to prospective buyers.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>50 years young</strong></p>
<p>Police responded to noise complaints at a home in the 8500 block of 116th Avenue Southeast on Jan. 13. Officers warned the homeowner, who was throwing a 50th birthday party for her husband, to turn the music down. Police have responded to noise complaints at the home numerous times through the years.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Now recording</strong></p>
<p>More than $200 worth of goods was stolen from an unsecured car parked in the 8900 block of 129th Place Southeast between the afternoon of Jan. 19 and the morning of Jan. 20. Two flashlights and two digital recorders were among the items stolen.</p>

<p><strong>Rummaging</strong></p>
<p>An unknown suspect entered the unlocked front passenger door of a car parked in the 8900 block of 129th Avenue Southeast, and rummaged through the glove box’s contents, but didn’t take anything, between the evening of Jan. 19 and the morning of Jan. 20.</p>

<p>More than $1,000 worth of goods was stolen from a car parked at the Cedar Rim Apartments, 7920 110th Ave. S.E, between the evening of Dec. 7 and the morning of Dec. 8. Among the items stolen were a set of Beats by Dre headphones, Ray Ban sunglasses and a gym bag.</p>

<p><strong>Boots were made for walking</strong></p>
<p>A pair of Eddie Bauer boots was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked at the Cedar Rim Apartments, 7920 110th Ave. S.E, between the evening of Dec. 7 and the morning of Dec. 8.</p>

<p><strong>Stolen electronics</strong></p>
<p>Between the evening of Dec. 9 and the morning of Dec. 10, an unknown suspect stole an iPod, a GPS and a stereo from a car parked at the Castle Creek Apartments, 7000 132nd Place S.E.</p>

<p><strong>A walk in the park</strong></p>
<p>More than $1,500 worth of goods was stolen from a locked car in the parking lot of Lake Boren Park, 13058 S.E. 84th Way, on Dec. 8. The vehicle owners went for a walk at the park, and upon their return, found that the driver’s door lock had been punched and the contents of a purse had been stolen.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Disputed tree</strong></p>
<p>Police responded to an ongoing neighbor dispute in the 11300 block of Southeast 76th Place on Dec. 10. The dispute is over property lines, fences and a large evergreen tree with limbs that hang over one of the neighbors’ driveway. The person who reported the incident said that her neighbor flipped her off and cussed at her.</p>

<p><strong>Breaking and stealing</strong></p>
<p>An unknown suspect broke the front door lock and entered a home in the 14300 block of Southeast 84th Court on Dec. 10. A $700 laptop was stolen, but police did collect fingerprints from the scene.</p>

<p><strong>Slow down</strong></p>
<p>A car was hit by a speeding vehicle near Newcastle Elementary School, 8400 136th Ave. S.E., on Dec. 12. The damaged car’s owner reported that while there is a 20 mph speed limit in the school zone, she often sees cars going 30-40 mph in the area.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Grinch steals Christmas</strong></p>
<p>A package was stolen from the doorstep of a home in the 7000 block of 121st Place Southeast on Dec. 18. The victim said she heard the doorbell ring, and in the little time it took her to put on shoes to answer the door, the package was gone. The victim did not know what the package was because it was a Christmas present.</p>

<p><strong>Mass mail theft</strong></p>
<p>A total of six mailboxes at the Castle Creek Apartments, 7000 132nd Place S.E., were broken into between the evening of Dec. 19 and the morning of Dec. 20. An unknown suspect caused about $1,000 in damage by breaking the locks to gain access to the mailbox.</p>

<p>Between the evening of Nov. 2 and the afternoon of Nov. 3 an unknown suspect entered two parked cars in the 7500 block of 135th Avenue Southeast and took about 20 music CDs. There were no signs of forced entry in either vehicle.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Shattered</strong></p>
<p>An unknown suspect shattered a window of two different cars parked in the 8200 block of 154th Avenue Southeast between Nov. 2 and 3. A $1,500 laptop was stolen from one car, but nothing was taken from the other. The overall damage, including the laptop theft, was estimated at $2,800.</p>

<p>More than $1,900 worth of personal belongings was stolen from a car parked in the 7400 block of 137th Place Southeast Nov. 3. Among the items stolen were a flight bag and an aviation headset worth $1,000.</p>

<p><strong>Rude awakening</strong></p>
<p>A victim awoke to find that his vehicle was damaged and contents stolen Nov. 7. The vehicle was parked in the 8400 block of 118th Avenue Southeast. More than $1,000 worth of personal belongings was stolen, including a tablet computer, a GPS and a set of drills worth $700.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Check denied</strong></p>
<p>A check was stolen from an outgoing mailbox in the 11200 block of Southeast 77th Place between Nov. 11 and 13. The suspect washed the check and attempted to cash it at a bank in SeaTac, but was denied.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Stolen mail</strong></p>
<p>Several checks were reportedly stolen from an outgoing mailbox in the 11200 block of Southeast 76th Street between Nov. 12 and 13.</p>

<p><strong>Breaking and failing</strong></p>
<p>An unknown suspect attempted to enter two garage doors that hold tools for the maintenance department at Castle Creek Apartments, 7000 132nd Place S.E., on Nov. 15 or 16. The suspect damaged the doors but was unable to gain entry. The damage to the doors was estimated at $120.</p>

<p><strong>Let’s party</strong></p>
<p>Police responded to reports of a party at a vacant home for sale in the 11900 block of Southeast 71st Street Nov. 16. Police arrived to find numerous kids and loud music playing inside the house. Among those present was the homeowners’ daughter who had invited some friends over. Police ensured that the kids were OK to drive and sent them home. The homeowners were unaware that the gathering was occurring. They arrived, locked up the house and took their daughter home.</p>

<p><strong>Clean the carpet</strong></p>
<p>During the weekend of Nov. 17, more than $3,400 worth of goods was stolen from the maintenance storage building at the Cedar Rim Apartments, 7920 110th Ave. S.E. A $100 fog machine and a $900 commercial grade carpet shampooer were among the items stolen.</p>

Police found an uncapped syringe and other drug paraphernalia in the car. The man was read his rights and then said he had injected heroin and there were no narcotics left. A subsequent search yielded nothing.</p>

<p><strong>Home break-in</strong></p>
<p>An unknown suspect broke into a secluded home for sale in the 11000 block of Southeast 76th Street between Oct. 4 and 6. The suspect reportedly entered the residence through a bathroom window, but did not take anything.</p>

<p>A man was arrested Oct. 9 after reportedly attempting to steal gas from a motorcycle parked at the Newport Crossing apartments, 7311 Coal Creek Parkway. The motorcycle’s owner said he found the suspect underneath the bike with some tools.</p>

<p>A Newcastle resident reported his car was keyed while parked in the Liberty High School parking lot on Oct. 10. There were no suspects.</p>

<p>An unknown suspect threw rocks through the front window of a Newcastle resident’s home in the 7000 block of 122nd Avenue Southeast on Oct. 12. The incident caused about $200 in damage.</p>

<p>More than $1,200 worth of personal belongings was stolen from a car parked at the Newport Crossing apartments, 7311 Coal Creek Parkway, between Oct. 13 and 14. It is unknown how entry into the vehicle occurred, but police did collect fingerprints from the scene.</p>

<p>A resident reported that between 8 p.m. Sept. 4 and 3 p.m. Sept. 5, the radio was stolen from his car. The resident said the car was locked, but there were no visible signs of forced entry.</p>

<p><strong>Home burglary</strong></p>
<p>A couple reported more than $32,000 worth of belongings stolen from their home in the 15300 block of Southeast 82nd Street on Sept. 7.</p>

<p><strong>Going to the gym</strong></p>
<p>An unknown suspect broke into two vehicles in the parking lot of the Cedar Rim Apartments on 110th Avenue Southeast on Sept. 9. The residents of both cars reported that their gym bags were stolen from their respective cars.</p>

<p><strong>Copper thief</strong></p>
<p>More than 10 copper spools, valued at $1,800, were reported stolen from The Golf Club at Newcastle. An employee believed the theft occurred between Aug. 1 and Sept. 4. The wire was kept in an unsecured storage container on the grounds.</p>

<p>More than $2,000 worth of construction tools was reported stolen from an unoccupied home in the 11400 block of Southeast 72nd Street. The house was under construction and tools were reportedly stolen between Sept. 7 and 8.</p>

<p>A woman reported that her phone was stolen while her family attended a Newcastle Days activity at Lake Boren Park, 13000 S.E. 84th Way, on Sept. 9.</p>

<p>A woman reported her iPad was stolen from the sitting area of the swimming pool at the Coal Creek Family YMCA on Sept. 11.</p>

<p>A resident reported that three packages were stolen from her mailbox between the evenings of Sept. 12 and 13 in the 8200 block of 116th Avenue Southeast. The resident received confirmation that the packages had been delivered, but when she checked the mailbox, they were not there.</p>
<p><strong>U-Haul</strong></p>
<p>A stolen U-Haul truck was found parked in the parking lot of the QFC on Sept. 14. The ignition, door lock and rear lock of the truck were damaged.</p>

<p>A cellphone, an insurance card and a vehicle binder were stolen from a car parked in the 7000 block of 122nd Avenue Southeast on Aug. 2 or 3. The victim did not realize anything had been stolen until a Bellevue police officer returned the vehicle binder which was found in a Bellevue park.</p>

<p>On Aug. 7, a woman reported a lawn mower was stolen from her unfenced back yard in the 11000 block of Southeast 77th Place. The woman had taken all of the items out of a shed in preparation for having it removed.</p>

<p><strong>Hit the deck</strong></p>
<p>The hood and fender of a Toyota was damaged after an unknown suspect threw a deck chair at the vehicle parked in the lot of the Cedar Rim Apartments on 110th Avenue Southeast on Aug. 7 or 8.</p>

<p>A 55-inch flat-screen television and two chainsaws were stolen from a rental property in the 12000 block of Southeast 88th Place on Aug. 8.</p>

<p>Police responded to a suspicious circumstances call in the 11000 block of Southeast 74th Street after a man and his wife said they were sitting in their bedroom when they heard their garage door close with no explanation Aug. 9. Nothing was missing from the garage.</p>

<p><strong>Electronics stolen</strong></p>
<p>An unknown suspect took a laptop, a digital camera, a video camera, a men’s watch and a passport from two unlocked vehicles parked at a residence in the 11000 block of Southeast 85th Street on Aug. 10. Police took fingerprints from the exterior of the vehicle.</p>

<p><strong>Missing  prescriptions</strong></p>
<p>On Aug. 10, an employee at Bartell Drugs reported prescription drugs, including pain medication and antibiotics, were missing from a personal locker at the Newcastle store on Coal Creek Parkway. The employee forgot to secure the locker and said the medicine went missing between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.</p>

<p>A woman reported her iPad was taken from her shopping cart Aug. 10 while she shopped at the Safeway store, 6911 Coal Creek Parkway.</p>

<p>A resident reported an abandoned vehicle in the 1300 block of Southeast 95th Way on Aug. 10. The resident said the vehicle had been there for two days and described it as a “dune buggy” type vehicle, with no doors or top.</p>

<p><strong>Game, set, match</strong></p>
<p>On Aug. 10, an unknown suspect took three tennis rackets, a GPS and a backpack filled with college orientation material from an unlocked vehicle in the 6000 block of Lake Washington Boulevard Southeast.</p>

<p><strong>Take a hike</strong></p>
<p>A woman reported that her 2011 Lexus had been broken into at the Red Town Trailhead, 15500 Newcastle Golf Club Road, between 7:00 and 8:20 a.m. Aug. 11. The burglar smashed the front driver’s side window, and stole her purse and its contents.</p>

<p><strong>Gas up</strong></p>
<p>On Aug. 13, a man reported that fuel was taken from his truck parked in the 7000 block of 113th Avenue Southeast. The victim said an unknown suspect damaged the fuel cap and possibly used a siphon to take the fuel. The victim also said the theft has been going on periodically for about a year, usually at night.</p>

<p><strong>Broken door</strong></p>
<p>An unknown suspect took jewelry, money and two computers from a residence in the 12000 block of Southeast 89th Place on Aug. 16. The victim said the suspect likely entered through a broken back door that no longer locks.</p>

<p><strong>Let’s golf</strong></p>
<p>On Aug. 17, a man reported that someone broke into his vehicle parked in the 8000 block of 116th Avenue Southeast. An unknown suspect attempted to shatter the vehicle windows, but was able to punch out the door locks to gain entry and steal the victim’s golf bag filled with clubs, two laptops and other valuables.</p>

<p><strong>Ring the alarm</strong></p>
<p>A suspect pried open a back window screen and entered a home in the 7600 block of 120th Place Southeast on June 1. The suspect took items from the home while the burglar alarm was ringing inside.</p>
<p><strong>Pry marks</strong></p>
<p>A woman reported May 31 that she had left town for four days and came home to discover someone had attempted to pry open the electric garage door of her home in the 6400 block of 112th Avenue Southeast. No entry was believed to have been made.</p>
<p><strong>Quick pics</strong></p>
<p>On June 1, a woman reported she and her husband have noticed a blond woman in her 40s or 50s driving by their home in the 7000 block of 122nd Avenue Southeast on several occasions. The woman slows down to take pictures of their home, but speeds away if noticed.</p>
<p><strong>Civic swiped</strong></p>
<p>A black, four-door 1999 Honda Civic with Washington license plates was reportedly stolen June 2 in the 7400 block of Newcastle Golf Club Road. The vehicle has an aftermarket black hood and orange oval stickers in the back window.</p>
<p><strong>Money grabber</strong></p>
<p>A woman reported June 2 that someone broke the passenger window to her vehicle at the Renton Academy, 6928 116th Ave. S.E., taking prescription medication, about $500 cash and a $500 purse.</p>
<p><strong>Foot checks</strong></p>
<p>A woman found 10 checks in the parking lot near the Chase Bank ATM, 13033 Newcastle Way, and turned them in to police June 14. The checks were all written and endorsed to Bellevue Podiatry.</p>
<p><strong>Egg on</strong></p>
<p>A resident reported his or her vehicle had been egged near Hazelwood Elementary School on June 17. The eggs had been thrown from the side of the road at the victim’s moving vehicle.</p>

<p>A 1994 black Honda Civic with Washington license plates was reported stolen April 25 in the 6800 block of Coal Creek Parkway.</p>
<p><strong>Overdrawn account</strong></p>
<p>A Newcastle woman reported April 25 that someone had been using checks to draw money out of her checking account. She became aware of the problem when she went into the Newcastle branch of Bank of America and told she was overdrawn.</p>
<p><strong>Burglary</strong></p>
<p>A woman who lives at the Newport Crossing apartments, 7311 Coal Creek Parkway, reported her Pioneer car stereo was stolen from her vehicle, and $230 in cash was taken from her and her roommate from the apartment April 26.</p>
<p><span id="more-7441"></span><strong>Car reported stolen</strong></p>
<p>A Newcastle woman reported April 28 her 2002 Kia Rio was stolen from the Newport Crossing apartments, 7311 Coal Creek Parkway. The silver four-door sedan had Washington plates with a 900VFC license number.</p>
<p><strong>Greenhouse glass smashed</strong></p>
<p>Two windows in an aluminum storm door on a greenhouse at the Renton Academy were reported broken April 29. There was a fair amount of dried blood on some of the broken glass and on the aluminum panel on the bottom of the door that had been pushed in. Many plants were found on the ground instead of on their shelves.</p>
<p><strong>Problem child</strong></p>
<p>A 13-year-old boy was taken into custody and transported to a juvenile detention center after he physically assaulted school staff members and threw pine cones at individuals at the Renton Academy on May 1.</p>
<p><strong>Student expelled</strong></p>
<p>A 14-year-old boy was expelled immediately from Liberty High School on May 1 for possession and intent to distribute marijuana after a parent said he was bragging about smoking and selling the drug at school. The student was released to his parents. The case was sent to the King County Youth Center prosecutor for further investigation and charges.</p>
<p><strong>Man, that’s heavy</strong></p>
<p>A woman contacted police May 2 to report her neighbors at the Newport Crossing apartments, 7311 Coal Creek Parkway, regarding the heavy smell of marijuana and loud noise. The responding officer reported glass bongs and assorted paraphernalia on a table when the tenant opened the door. The occupants were given a formal warning.</p>
<p><strong>Tires slashed at apartment</strong></p>
<p>A woman reported her tires were intentionally slashed May 2 at the Castle Creek Apartments, 7100 132nd Ave. The incident caused $250 in damage to the Chevy Lumina.</p>
<p><strong>Deer injured near roadway</strong></p>
<p>A Newcastle police officer euthanized a deer with two broken legs on the east side of the road just north of Southeast 89th Place and Coal Creek Parkway. No game agent was available to assist during the incident.</p>
<p><strong>Burglary</strong></p>
<p>A home in the 12800 block of Southeast 80th Way was burglarized May 6. A laptop, Xbox and some money was stolen — including $400 from a Toy Story bank. A rock was used to break through a kitchen door.</p>
<p><strong>Neighbor spots burglars</strong></p>
<p>A 47-year-old transient man and a 39-year-old Clute, Texas, man were arrested and booked into the King County Jail on May 6 for residential burglary after a neighbor saw them entering a residence in the 7400 block of Coal Creek Parkway Southeast. The two men were still there when officers arrived. A significant amount of jewelry stolen from the home was found on one of the men.</p>
<p><strong>There’s a snake in your boot</strong></p>
<p>A home in the 12800 block of Southeast 80th Way was burglarized May 6. A laptop, Xbox and some money was stolen — including $400 from a Toy Story bank. A rock was used to break through a kitchen door.</p>
<p><strong>Car break-in</strong></p>
<p>About $330 worth of items was reported stolen from a 2001 Honda Accord on May 6. There was no damaged caused to the vehicle, but a North Face backpack, a rain jacket and loose change was taken.</p>
<p><strong>Vet checks</strong></p>
<p>A veterinarian reported forgery of a check for more than $1,900 that replicated a business check from the Animal Hospital of Newport Hills on May 11. The business isn’t missing any checks and the culprit is believed to be making the checks from an outside source.</p>
<p><strong>Suspicious minds</strong></p>
<p>Unknown males came into a yard in the 8000 block of 148th Avenue Southeast but took off when a homeowner yelled at them.</p>
<p><strong>BB gun pellet breaks window</strong></p>
<p>A front window on a home in the 7800 block of 116th Avenue Southeast was broken out by a BB gun pellet May 16.</p>
<p><strong>Garage door opened, items taken</strong></p>
<p>A garage door was pried open and an Xbox and cellphone were stolen in a residential burglary May 17 in the 7000 block of 123rd Avenue Southeast.</p>
<p><strong>Warrant arrest made at Renton Academy</strong></p>
<p>A juvenile was picked up on a misdemeanor warrant May 18 at the Renton Academy.</p>
<p><strong>Designer diaper bag swiped</strong></p>
<p>An employee’s vehicle parked at the Newcastle Baskin-Robbins, 6935 Coal Creek Parkway, was damaged after a person shattered the window and reached inside to take a Coach designer diaper bag May 18.</p>
<p><strong>Home burglarized</strong></p>
<p>A home was burglarized after someone entered the residence in the 10900 block of Southeast 64th Street by breaking the glass to the rear sliding door May 18.</p>
