Council holds budget retreat Tuesday

The Newcastle City Council will hold an all-day budget retreat July 16, replacing the regularly scheduled evening meeting.
Staff will prepare a revenue and expenditure forecast for 2014, giving the City Council an early look at what to expect in the upcoming budget. The Council will also be presented with a long-range forecast for 2015-2019.
The retreat goes from noon to 6 p.m. July 16 at The Golf Club at Newcastle, 15500 Six Penny Lane.
The Council will meet again July 30 at noon in the Council Chambers for a short special meeting, essentially replacing the canceled July 16 evening meeting.
The Aug. 6 Council meeting has been canceled so that council members may attend National Night Out block parties.
The next regular Council meeting is Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
