Mackenna Briggs, Liberty High School sophomore, comes up for air just this once during her 50-yard freestyle final Nov. 10 at the 3A state swimming championships. Flaten finished third in 24.2 seconds, and fourth with 57.42 in the 100-yard backstroke.
