Thanks to everyone who made Newcastle Days a success
Hats off to the Newcastle City Council and myriad other volunteers who made this year’s Newcastle Days such a great event and resounding success!
The music on Saturday night was world-class, and brought back such memories. It was wonderful to see so many neighbors and friends enjoying the music and socialization. A special thanks to John and Lisa Jensen, David Harris, Sandra Wixon, and Alan White and his band members for making this truly memorable evening.

Creating a dog park makes other parks safer for runners
I’m not a dog owner, but I think the idea of an off-leash dog park is a good one.
As a frequent runner through the park, I feel nervous with the off-leash dogs running around. Containing dogs to an area where they aren’t a bother to me or to others who don’t want to be sniffed, licked or barked at has my approval.
Not to mention the inattentive owners who don’t pick up after their dogs on the grassy areas during the summer, when the area is used for concert seating and kids playing.
