Help plant trees for Arbor Day Saturday

Newcastle will celebrate Arbor Day from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday by hosting a work party to plant 300 conifer trees in the May Creek Basin.
Volunteers should come dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy shoes, as much of the work will be on steep slopes, said Newcastle Weed Warriors founder Grace Stiller, who is helping organize the event.
Stiller said there would also be an area atop the steep slope for children to work.
