We Need A Place To Play Too

My name is Bo,
I’m a Jack Russell Terrier and 5 years old.
We go to Lake Boren Park every day
whether rain or snow or sunny day.

We’ve made lots of friends, both 2 and 4 feet;
The dogs are my friends and some people have treats.
My buddies run, play or chase balls –
Things we can’t do inside house walls.

A play space of our own is what we seek,
so my friends have asked me to speak.
We love this park, it’s lots of fun;
Trees and grass and room to run.
This park is for everyone to use,
an off-leash area would be great news.

First. Would be easier to comment if there was actually some more “meat” to the story. However, here’s my real question. This says the Parks Commission decided to move forward on a dog park. Doesn’t the Parks Commission make recommendations to the Council and it’s the Council that makes the decision on what to “move forward” on? I wasn’t aware that we’d given decision making powers to the Commission. May seem like a procedural thing but it’s important that it’s our elected officials that have to be responsible for making the decisions based on recommendations.
