Construction crews will begin their work on the city’s bus stop project Monday. The south end of the project will be completed first.
Work will start on the south side of Newcastle Way at 129th Avenue Southeast and proceed east across Coal Creek Parkway down to 132nd Place Southeast.
The initial phase of the project will affect eastbound traffic on Newcastle Way. Drivers proceeding straight through the intersection of Coal Creek Parkway will share the same lane as traffic turning right onto Coal Creek.
Motorists should expect delays in the downtown area for the duration of the project, which should wrap up by the end of November.
Last month, the City Council awarded the construction contract to Marshbank Construction Co., of Lake Stevens. Marshbank was the low bidder on the project at just over $2.1 million.
