AS A MEMBER OF THE OPENING BAND, I MUST SAY THAT IT WAS A GREAT PLEASURE TO BE A PART OF YOUR CELLEBRATION. A BEAUTIFUL DAY. OUR BAND IS VERY BUSY AND I DON’T SEEM TO GET THE CHANCE TO THANK THE PEOPLE THAT MAKE MY GOOD TIMES GO! I HAVE MEMORIES OF YOUR AREA AS A SMALL CHILD. I can remember before there was a Newcastle Days and in fact before Newcastle became an official city, there was “Return to Newcastle” that was an informal presentation by volunteers of the history of old Newcastle. It was in June of every year and I visited a few times. It was great!

Youth Theater Northwest will be performing Cinderella. They are fabulous! I’m not sure what time they will be there. I was hoping that would be in the article.

With the street being closed where do we enter at.??

I am so proud to see that Newcastle Days has become such a successful community event. The seeds for this event were planted in 1994 by hard working volunteers primarily from the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce . We shared the vision of creating a sense of community in our newly formed city, and worked hard to make it happen. Each year the event grew larger, and live entertainment was always a key element. Eventually Newcastle Days grew too large for volunteers to manage and the city took over planning by 1998. It keeps getting better year after year, and has grown into its present day format. Amazing!
